report card


The Big Picture

This semester,  P.E has been challenging and fun at the same time. Four words to describe my performance in P.E are hard working, positive, encouraging, and helpful. I am hard working because during fitness days I always try my hardest and I am always sweating and exhausted at the end of class. a specific example would be when we had fitness the first Tuesday back from winter break and we did the partner circuit. This is because even though it was the second day back I still tried my hardest. Also me and my partner Parbjot modified it slightly by doing all the activities together and timing our selves with the help of another group. How we did this was whenever the second person from that group came back from running we would start running and than come back and do the exercise, and because Prabjot, the other partner and I ran together so the timing worked out. I would consider myself positive because every class I try not to say anything negative like " I don't like this game" or " I am to tired to do P.E today ". The reason I put encouraging down for one of my words is I always try to encourage my peers when they want to give up or when they don't want to do something. One example is the other day my partner wanted to take a break and quit, but I encouraged her and told her that we were almost done and there was no point in stopping. I think I am helpful because I always try to help take out and put equipment away even if there isn't much to put away I still try to help even if it means just picking up one thing.

Participation

This semester I believe I participated everyday. I have been here every class except for maybe one or two days when I was away. I make sure to bring my gym strip everyday and change before and after every class. I usually try my best in class except for maybe a few classes were I have been a little lazy. Some factors that influence my work ethic are positive attitude, responsibility, and hard work. My motivation for my selection of activity on choice days is usually whatever I would like to do and usually my friends want to do the same thing so they don't really have an influence on my choice of activity.

Social Responsibility and Contributions to the class

This semester I have really tried my best to encourage others especially during fitness days because that is when some of my friends need more encouragement because fitness days are harder. After and before class I try to help with set up and pick up equipment. During class I try to bring a positive energy by being helpful and cheering everyone on if were playing a game with teams.


Healthy Living 

I feel this semester my fitness scores have improved and so has my overall fitness. This is because on the first beep test I had score of 4.8 and on the second one I received a score of 5.4. I believe that was a huge improvement and I was very proud of myself. Next beep test I hope to receive at least a 5.6. Some activities I do outside of school are swimming, and dance. I swim 3 days a week and I have dance 1 day outside of school and then everyday at school I have dance too. Some of my future goals for overall health choices are maybe trying to walk home after school to get more exercise and try to cut back fast food in my diet.


Digital Portfolio and Reflective skills 

This is the area I have had trouble with this semester. This is because I have not been collecting digital evidence. The reason being because I usually do not bring my phone to class because its kind of hard to carry it around all the time especially in P.E. Although I feel like I still could have posted more often. Next semester I will try to post more and collect more evidence. I think my comments on my peers blogs are very helpful and encouraging.


Overall I feel like I worked very hard this semester even though there were some days when I could have tried harder. Next semester I hope to collect more evidence and participate more especially during the days when we are doing something I don't really like which are usually the days I don't try very hard.

Beep test

Today we did the beep test. I received a 5.4 and last time in September I received a 4.8. I am really proud of the improvement because in just over a month my score went up by a lot. Next beep test I hope to get at least a 5.6. As a part of my last reflection I believe the improvement from last year is the people I surround my self with. Last year the people I had gym with weren't very enthusiastic while this year all my friends in gym are very enthusiastic and are always pushing me to go futher or to try harder. Another reason for all the improvement is I am more active and try to fit in some sort of exercise each day. I am also swimming 4 days a week this year which is also keeping me active. I also do dance and figure skating once a week. I hope to improve my fitness level significantly by the end of the year.

interm report card

This year in p.e I have been trying extremely hard compared to last year. Although I haven't collected a lot of evidence it is one of my goals to start collecting evidence. One thing I am really proud of is the community run last year i finished at 36 mins and this year i finished at 27 mins. I also do a lot of activities outside of school for example dance, swim club and skating. These activities take up a lot of time during the week. Swim club is 3 times a week, skating is once a week, and I have dance everyday at school and once a week outside of school. Once I have collected my evidence I will make sure I post it. When ever we do an activity as a class I try to help out with equipment and participate in the activities we do. I believe I deserve a G because I make sure to bring gym strip everyday and I participate and try my hardest. I also bring a positive attitude and I am always sweating after fitness.

                     This year active learning has really contributed to my physical health. I have noticed many improvements for things I would have never been able to acomplish in the beggining of the year. My attendance has been very good and I uasully dont miss any class unless i am sick or have a personal issues. I am also always prepared for class for example bringing my gym strip and a positive attitude. My fitness has really improved from the beggining of the year to now for example my beep test results. In the beggining of the year my beep test score was a 5.2 and the most recent score was 6.2(picture evidence below). I have improved times on my comunity run as well. In the beggining of the year my time was 43 min and now my time is 36 min. I contribute to the class by helping with some clean up and set up, and also if some one requires help i also offer my assistance. I have also joined many activities outside of class for example swimming at the YMCA and jazz at panorama dance. I also go for regular walks during the day. This year active learning has really influenced my lifestyle.

Gym has been a very beneficial experience for me. I look forward to gym everyday and I come prepared with my gym strip and a positive attitude towards learning new things. From the goals I have made from the previous report card I have been making very good progress especially for the goal I made about working harder on fitness days. I have noticed that I sweat more and am huffing and puffing at the end. I feel this is very beneficial for my health because I have become more active and fit. I am also able to keep a steady pace while running or doing any other physical activity. Outside of school I take regular walks and occasional  runs I also go swimming and eat a well balanced diet. I believe gym is a very propitious experience for everyone.

This year during PE I have brought forward a positive attitude towards all activities and have enjoyed participating in a variety of activities. I usually give full effort unless its one of my "off" days where i have tried just not to my full potential. The days I usually give full effort is on the days when we play volleyball , dance and even sports outside.    


I contribute to the classes overall success by being a good sport, having a positive attitude, and 
getting along with everyone. I usually interact with other students by contributing ideas and getting along well with everyone.


My precipitation  during fitness days has been really well I always try to push myself even though I am not the most athletic person I always try my hardest during fitness days. My favorite fitness activity is the pond run, this is because we can be outside and enjoy the fresh air, also we get one minute on and one minute off which makes it easier to do. This year my goal for fitness would be to try harder on fitness days and to push my self more because I know that if I pushed myself a little more I could be much better at fitness.   







To me leadership is to help everyone not just to lead, it also means to include everyone in a conversation not just lead the conversation. I am not really sure who the best leader in our class is because I think there are so many good leaders that help contribute to the class.



Some improvements I would like to make by the end of the year are to try my hardest in fitness and to try to volunteer for cleanup a little more. The thing I am most proud of so far is how far I have  come on my fitness level its hard to believe that half a year ago I couldn't run as far as I can now or as long.

Overall I believe I deserve an A in gym I think this because I always try my hardest, participate in class and get along very well with everyone in the gym class.
